Actor Rajkummar won the best actor award at Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Earlier the actor Rajkummar Rao shared the news on his Twitter handle. He tweeted, “Happy to share tht I’ve been nominated 4 best prfrmnc by an actor in d prestigious #AsiaPacificScreenAwards for #Newton also #BestScreenplay.” In an earlier interview, the actor himself has said that “2017 is really exciting year for me, I think one of the most important years of my career.”

India’s foreign language Oscar confident ‘Newton’ sacked two wins at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane, with Rajkummar Rao winning the best actor, and author Mayank Tewari and executive Amit V. Masurkar getting the best screenplay award.

Dedicating the award to his late mother, Rajkummar, in his acceptance speech, said, “Let’s keep doing this beautiful work, let’s keep making these wonderful stories. Here’s to cinema!”. Later, the 33-year-old actor took to his Twitter page to say, “Won the best actor award at the most prestigious #APSA2017 (Asia Pacific Screen Awards). Thank you Maa. Thank u team #Newton. Don’t stop chasing your dreams because they really do come true.”

At the service, where Australia’s ‘Sweet Country’ won the best honor, India’s ‘Lady of the Lake’ by director Haobam Paban Kumar won an exceptional specify in the Cultural Diversity Award Under the Patronage of UNESCO classification in which Dede was the victor. ‘Newton’ spins around a new kid on the block yet hopeful decision officer as he battles to hold races in a Chhattisgarh town regardless of the danger of Naxalite savagery.
