Akshay Kumar’s PadMan will bolt horns with his movie producer Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming film Aiyaary one year from now and the hotshot does not appear to be stressed over it.
The year 2018 will open with PadMan and Aiyaary release on January 26. After some information about the conflict, Akshay stated, “Both the films are absolutely different. Neeraj is a dear friend of mine. There is nothing like clash. The word clash is media created. My film might get screened in 2,800 screens or so. Their movie would be screened in 1,600-1,800 or more theaters. There are 4,000-5,000 screens, so how can there be a clash? That film is different and so is ours. So there is no clash as such.”
The national honor winning performer said it was his wife Twinkle who looked into the story. It is a historical dramatization in light of the life of the Tamil Nadu-based lobbyist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who worked towards giving practical and clean sanitary napkins to the ladies in the country. It highlights Akshay in the number one spot part while Radhika Apte plays his better half.
“The concept of PadMan was Twinkle’s and it is written and directed by R Balki. It is a very honest subject which we have brought in front of the Indian audience. It talks about sanitary pads and nobody ever spoke about it earlier. It is an attempt to tell what women go through.”
Aiyaary is a spine-chiller spinning around the connection between a guide and a protege, played by Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra separately.
